Results Of My Helmet Painting Project.

In an earlier post I mentioned that I wanted to paint one of my helmets, perhaps something a little retro to go along with the Suzuki. The next day my good friend Ricky stopped by and as I told him of my idea he offered to lay it out for me. I had no intention of him doing this, but he is much more proficient at it than me.

Pinstripe and numerals added

The finished product.

The number 34 is my way of paying homage to Wes Cooley, a champion of the AMA Superbike circuit in the mid to late seventies.

Ricky laid out the design in about twenty minutes and I did the painting later that night.  The next day I added the striping and the numerals.  It was my first attempt at painting a helmet and it's not perfect, but it was loads of fun and it only cost me about $15.
