Shopping for a touring bike

Soon the icy clutches of winter will have a grasp on the Midwest and I will be bundled up inside the warm house trying to decide what motorcycle I should add to the stable.

I thoroughly enjoyed commuting on the Suzuki this year, but really missed having a long distance tourer like my old BMW RT. So, I have made the decision to find one.

Exactly which touring motorcycle I will purchase is unclear, but I plan to give it lots of thought this winter.

Here's what bikes have made the list so far... Harley Davidson Road King, Street Glide, Kawasaki Concourse, and the BMW RT.

I will keep you up to date as this motorcycle shopping journey continues.

Suzuki Boulevard C90T B.O.S.S. is the bike I have been contemplating for a while now. I've had such good luck with my '92 GSX750F that I feel like I should stay in the Suzuki family, but with a cruiser instead.

Definitely a cool bike. I have loved my Suzuki's and have several friends who swear by their SV650's.

I have a streetglide, I love this bike. The miles are easy and very comfortable on it. As I am now aprroach the 70,000 mile make on it.
I will say a person should consider over all maitaince expense when buying a bike. I do not know what the others will cost but it is a thought of over all money spent per miles spent. ( Just a silly girls 2 cents)

70,000 miles! That is awesome. I agree with you on the maintenance, I rode a BMW RT for many years and repairs on that bike could be quite costly. Not sure I want to go that route again or not.
